The word “SymptoTherm” refers to the sympto-thermal method of birth control. “Sympto-thermal” means that the temperature curve (“thermal”) of each woman during her menstrual cycle is observed in context along with the other signs (“symptoms”) of fertility. The combined analysis of temperature and cervical mucus – the key fertility elements – as well as the self-examination of the cervix, permits the woman to determine her fertile and non-fertile days in a simple and safe manner.

The couple is then free to facilitate or avoid the conception of a child.
